Discover Georgia in 10 Days

DISCOVER GEORGIA. A TEN DAY EXPERIENCE.

it’s just a quick flight across the Black Sea and you are in Georgia. We will be there to meet and greet you at the Tbilisi Airport and take you to your hotel to proceed with your check in. The whole day will be your just to relax from your flight.

For your second day, we will pick you up and start with the Tbilisi Tour. We will start from Holy Trinity Cathedral, commonly known as Sameba, the biggest Eastern Orthodox cathedral in Europe located in the historic neighborhood of Avlabari. Sameba is the great synthesis of traditional styles of Georgian church architecture at various stages in history and has some byzantine undertones. Because of its dimensions and detailed design it is great for photography.

Then we will visit the landmark Metekhi, church and the monument of Vakhtang Gorgasali beside it - the legendary founder of our charming city. We will continue to Sioni Cathedral, which is named after Mount Zion in Jerusalem and was the biggest church in Tbilisi at the end of the 5th century, and Anchiskhati basilica of Saint Mary, sheltered behind a fence and a bell tower.

After that, we can stroll along the Shardeni area full of narrow streets with cozy cafes, wine tasting bars, souvenir shops, and breathe in the living past. It is a welcomed oasis, where European and Georgian cultures meet. The street was named Shardeni in the 19th Century in honour of the French traveller Jean Chardin.

Next destination will be the ancient Abanotubani District. It sits below the imposing fortress, the brick, doomed rooftops of the baths bubbling up like the water itself. Georgian spas enjoyed enormous popularity across Europe. Russia's most famous poet, Pushkin, is known to have said of them:

''I have never seen such luxury in all my life. I was literally reborn!''

Finishing with visiting excellent masterpieces of old architecture, it is time to see some modern elements of Tbilisi. One of the loved places for tourists is the Pease Bridge.  A bow-shaped pedestrian bridge made from steel and glass, illuminated with thousands of LED lights, switched on 90 minutes before sunset. Especially beautiful at nights. At the end of the bridge, is a cable car that takes you over old Tbilisi to the top of one of the hills surrounding city. From there, you will have breathtaking panoramic view of Tbilisi, surrounded with all these expressions of love, of happiness, kisses and smiles.

After these beautiful emotions, it is time to get ready for more adventures. We will take you to Mtskheta to visit Jvari Monastery, which sits on the top of the mountain overlooking the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers. This 6th century building is stunning and unique in its own way. Jvari, we can translate as ''The Monastery Of Cross'' and it's listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This is a perfect place to travel back in time and enjoy the architecture of middle ages.

Our next stop will be at Svetiskhoveli Cathedral, which is one of the most significant and biggest churches in Georgia. The name of the church means ''Life giving column'' and it is considered as an architectural masterpiece of the early middle ages. Svetiskhoveli was the religious center for all Christians for many centuries. Further proving its importance of Christianity, there is a legend that a seamless robe of Jesus Christ is buried within the temple.

For your second adventure, we will take you to Kakheti, the land of wine!

Your first stop will be in the Monastery of St. Nino at Bodbe (9th century), nested among tall Cypress trees on a steep hillside overlooking the Alazani Valley where it commands breathtaking views of the Greater Causasus mountains.
Then proceed to Sighnaghi,  a Kakhetian town surrounded by ancient wall, settled since the Paleolithic period. Time to take some masterclasses in baking Georgia bread Shoti, Georgian cheese-filled bread Khachapuri and traditional Georgian sweet Churchkhela. You will have the opportunity to attend the brewing of Georgian Vodka Zavodoba, which is very enjoyable process. You will also see again how we bake traditional Georgian bread and make the most amazing sweetness, Churchkhela. Of course, you will be able to participate in this process and taste dishes too, in a very pleasant ethnographic environment decorated with old Georgian exhibits and other interesting things. As you already know, Kakheti is the wine cradle, so there is no way not to taste such an amazing Kakhetian wine. There is 2 centuries old press (equipment used for wine squeezing), which is until now used for making wine and which presents the pride of the cellar. Here you can also see old earthen crocks (“kvevri”), where different types of wine are stored. As a guest of the wine house, you will have an opportunity to taste several kinds of wine and even bottle wine, which they take out of “Kvevri” with their own hands and purchase it in a sealed condition. At the end of the day, it is time for Supra – which means “feast”, but definitely is something more than that, much more unique and unforgettable. Your local hosts dressed in Georgian national dress "Chokha" will make sure to accompany your feast with Georgian folklore songs to make your day even more special.

For your fifth day in Georgia, we will check out and after breakfast, it's time to drive to Stepantsminda region. Our first stop will be at Ananuri, fortified ensemble (170km from Sighnaghi), which was a castle and seat of the Eristavi (Dukes) of Aragvi, a feudal dynasty, which ruled the area from the 13th century. The castle was the scene of numerous battles. The landscape of this place, even in summer, leaves a deep impression.
