For your second day, we will pick you up and start with the Tbilisi Tour. We will start from Holy Trinity Cathedral, commonly known as Sameba, the biggest Eastern Orthodox cathedral in Europe located in the historic neighborhood of Avlabari. Sameba is the great synthesis of traditional styles of Georgian church architecture at various stages in history and has some byzantine undertones. Because of its dimensions and detailed design it is great for photography.
Then we will visit the landmark Metekhi, church and the monument of Vakhtang Gorgasali beside it - the legendary founder of our charming city. We will continue to Sioni Cathedral, which is named after Mount Zion in Jerusalem and was the biggest church in Tbilisi at the end of the 5th century, and Anchiskhati basilica of Saint Mary, sheltered behind a fence and a bell tower.
After that, we can stroll along the Shardeni area full of narrow streets with cozy cafes, wine tasting bars, souvenir shops, and breathe in the living past. It is a welcomed oasis, where European and Georgian cultures meet. The street was named Shardeni in the 19th Century in honour of the French traveller Jean Chardin.
Next destination will be the ancient Abanotubani District. It sits below the imposing fortress, the brick, doomed rooftops of the baths bubbling up like the water itself. Georgian spas enjoyed enormous popularity across Europe. Russia's most famous poet, Pushkin, is known to have said of them:
''I have never seen such luxury in all my life. I was literally reborn!''
Finishing with visiting excellent masterpieces of old architecture, it is time to see some modern elements of Tbilisi. One of the loved places for tourists is the Pease Bridge. A bow-shaped pedestrian bridge made from steel and glass, illuminated with thousands of LED lights, switched on 90 minutes before sunset. Especially beautiful at nights. At the end of the bridge, is a cable car that takes you over old Tbilisi to the top of one of the hills surrounding city. From there, you will have breathtaking panoramic view of Tbilisi, surrounded with all these expressions of love, of happiness, kisses and smiles.
After these beautiful emotions, it is time to get ready for more adventures. We will take you to Mtskheta to visit Jvari Monastery, which sits on the top of the mountain overlooking the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers. This 6th century building is stunning and unique in its own way. Jvari, we can translate as ''The Monastery Of Cross'' and it's listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
